    TERMS OF REFERENCE

    EPS CBRN Group Terms of Reference

    1 To represent the Emergency Planning Society (EPS) on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear) emergencies. This includes CBRN emergencies resulting from deliberate, accidental and natural causes.

     

    2 To report key activities of the Group to the main body of the EPS through the Director of Business Services.

    Chris Abbott is a well respected CBRN specialist with over 37 years experience primarily gained in the Royal Air Force. He has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of military CBRN protective measures and a comprehensive understanding of civil CBRN arrangements. Prior to his retirement from the RAF in 2006 Chris spent 15 years engaged on CBRN protection issues primarily in the MoD in London. During this time he was recognised as one of the UK Armed Force’s authoritative specialists in the field and earned an international reputation for his CBRN expertise. His experience includes the development of CBRN operational policy, concepts, doctrine and capability for the Armed Forces. Chris is Chairman of CBRN-UK and Industry Chairman of the Home Office CBRN Industrial Advisory Group. He is also Chairman of the Emergency Planning Society’s CBRN Professional Working Group.
