The contamination threat to our coast from shipping accidents is significant. Being prepared for such disasters is the principal concern of the Oil Pollution Professional Working Group. In addition to oil pollution, the problems of chemical and inert pollution of the sea and shoreline, and the pollution of inland waterways are also considered.
