UK Cyber Security: The Role of Insurance
23 Mar 2015
Dear Members
Today, the UK Government published a policy paper 'UK cyber security: the role of insurance in managing and mitigating the risk'. The document can be downloaded using the following link, or by going to the 'Resources' section of the EPS website:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-cyber-security-the-role-of-insurance
The report, which has been produced jointly by HM Government and Marsh, one of the UK's leading insurance brokers and risk advisors, announces new joint initiatives between the UK government and the insurance sector to help companies tackle cyber risk; to establish cyber insurance as part of companies' cyber toolkits, and place London as the global centre for cyber risk management.
The report publishes this statistic for 2014: 81% of large UK businesses and 60% of small companies suffered a cyber breach.
Best wishes
